Overview

Combining anatomy and cosmic imagery, this piece celebrates the musculoskeletal system in a dance with the cosmos, evoking both the joys of life and the inevitability of death, in a perpetual cycle. I like the idea of the cosmic entity of Death and Transformation being a female figure with her skull exposed, and whose physical form is constantly shifting between the layers of anatomy: bone, muscle, soft internal organs, skin, and then back through the cycle.

With vibrant colors on a tan toned mixed media paper, this piece brings a mix of eclectic and witchy vibes to any space. Measuring 9 x 12 inches on paper, it would work great in any frame starting at an 11 x 14 inch size. You can lean into a minimalist theme with a simple black frame, or take it more into an eclectic or dark academia direction with an ornate wooden frame.
